Most existing legislation and certainly the new require companies to carry out risk assessments on all activities within the workplace. A suitable and sufficient risk assessment should be completed by a competent person or number of persons and will identify the hazards associated with a particular task, the likelihood of them causing an injury and the severity of that injury.
